About this place
Astashambhu Kualo (Kualo means eight temples) is an archaeological site featuring a group of eight ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located approximately 72 km from Dhenkanal town. The primary temple, Kanakeswar Temple, stands in ruined form at approximately 24 meters height, preserving some of the earliest and finest specimens of Kalinga temple sculpture and architectural style.
