About this place
Dhenkanal Palace is the only fort-cum-palace structure in Odisha, situated against the slopes of the Eastern Ghats. Built during the latter part of the 19th century on the site of a fort that withstood Maratha siege and warfare, the palace represents architectural and historical significance. The structure combines defensive fortress design with palatial residential comfort.
