Sakshigopal Temple (historically known as Satyabadi Gopinath Temple) is located in Sakhigopal, about 20 km from Puri. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his child form (Gopal). According to legend, a young Brahmin devotee was promised the hand of a village headman's daughter in marriage, but the headman later reneged.
Lord Krishna walked from Vrindavan to stand witness for his devotee; traditionally visited before Jagannath Temple.
