Located 5 km south of Konark, the north-facing temple (Odia architectural style with brick, sandstone, laterite) consists of Vimana, Jagamohana, and open-roof Mandapa. The perennial river confluence symbolizes purification in Hindu tradition. According to legend, 17th century when Kalapahad attacked temples, Goddess Ramachandi saved the shrine by appearing as maid servant, protecting divine essence.
