About this place
Udayagiri Buddhist Complex is the largest of the monastic sites in Odisha's Diamond Triangle. Situated on the foothills of a semicircular hill, it features a grand brick stupa, two monasteries, rock-cut caves, and a historic stepwell with inscriptions. Excavations have brought to light beautiful images of Avalokitesvara, Tara, and Amitabha Buddha.
