Ratnagiri Monastery is a premier archaeological site located in the Jajpur district. Dating from the 5th to the 12th century CE, it was a major center of Vajrayana Buddhism (Tantric Buddhism) and functioned as a university alongside Nalanda. The site features two large monasteries, a massive stupa, and hundreds of minor votive stupas.
