Established on 29 December 1960, Nandankanan is integrated within Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary. The 437-hectare zoo houses over 3,500 animals across 157+ species. World's first white tiger breeding centre (first cub born 1980) and India's first zoo to join WAZA (2009). The zoo is closed on Mondays.
