Habalikhati Sea Beach & Coastal Ecosystem

Rajnagar, Kendrapara

About this place

Part of the Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary system, Habalikhati Beach stretches along the coastal interface where mangrove forests meet the Bay of Bengal. During turtle nesting season (January-March), the beach becomes a critical breeding ground for Olive Ridley turtles. The beach showcases the transition zone between terrestrial mangrove ecosystem and marine environment, supporting both nesting turtles and diverse coastal bird species.
