Deomali (18°40'32"N 82°58'54"E) is the highest peak in Odisha at 1,672 m (5,486 ft) above sea level, located in the Chandragiri-Pottangi subrange of the Eastern Ghats, approximately 70 km from Koraput. The peak offers hang gliding, mountaineering, and trekking. Surrounded by deep forest rich in bauxite, limestone, and diverse tribal communities including Kandhas, Parajas, and Bhumia.
