Langudi Hills

Langudi, Jajpur

About this place

Langudi Hills is a major Buddhist archaeological site located in the Mirzapur area of Jajpur. Excavated in the late 1990s, the hill has revealed a wealth of rock-cut stupas, monolithic shrines, and images of Dhyani Buddhas. It is historically identified as the site of the ancient Pushpagiri Mahavihara, which was described by Chinese traveler Hiuen Tsang in the 7th century CE.
