Purushottampur, Berhampur
About this place
Maa Tara Tarini Temple is perched on the Purnagiri hillock of Kumari Hills at 708 feet elevation on the south bank of the Rushikulya River, approximately 32 kilometres from Berhampur (Brahmapur) and 130 kilometres from Bhubaneswar in Ganjam district. It is one of India's four ancient Shakti Peethas and Tantra Peethas — specifically the Stana Khanda Peetha (breast shrine), where Sati's breasts are believed to have fallen.
